What's love got to do with it? What's love but a second hand emotion.
I guess it depends on your cultural upbringing. Case in point, in parts of South Asia marriages are pre-arranged and are very successful. What they value in a marriage is the stability of the family unit, creating alliances, and procreation. With enough time these couples eventually grown fond of each other, not to confuse it with our definition of love.

In the West, we erroneously fail to distinguish lust from love. If marriages are based on lust then they are doomed to fail because with time lust fades away. Marriage is a social institution a contract between two individuals and for it to succeed it must be based not just on a biological urge but to meet certain social ends.

The bottom line is that marriage will never be perfect because humans aren't.

It all depends on how you define love. marriage is a partnership between toe people based on trust and unselfish commitment for each other. Two people caring for each other needs collectively. Each knowing when to say thank and I'm sorry when the moment calls for it. Never belittling or blaming but discussing and sharing about the positive things that they encounter individually and collectively. It is about the we and the us. If that is your definition of love then maybe yes love is enough to make a marriage work.
