A further thought - as long as your uncle is alive, he can remain the tenant and you can live in the leashold -paying rent either to him, or to the landlord on your uncle's behalf. In effect you become a subtenant. Your uncle has a right to the tenancy for the duration of the lease, and can allow you to have use and enjoyment of the apartment unless specifically forbidden to do so under the terms of the lease. It probably depends on the lease. You can go to the landlord and ask to succeed your uncle in his tenancy. That would give the landlord the opportunity to re-evaluate the lease, and perhaps increase the rent, though. Answered by S.A.CablesAge : 61 1 month ago Report Abuse Edit Delete Add comments |
