If the social worker has been assigned to investigate a matter having to do with a child and feels that the parent should not pick up the child then yes under these special circumstances the social worker may be acting in the best interest of the child. There is more to this than meets the eye. A social worker can intervene if the situation warrants it.

does the social worker have the right to let the abuser of the victims to whom were brothers and cousins of the abuser take the victims away from the mother and placed else where so the mother could stay at home with the abuser then the victims thaught they were being punished.
