Can art influence society for the best or worst?

I think the answer is yes it can, for instance i you were to kill 1500 people arrange the corpses in some sort of artistic poses then make a reality program about how you achieved it i'm quite sure you'll influence a lot of people in one way or another, so what i'm trying to say is that it depends on what you do and how far you willing to go to influence society, but i believe it can be achieved.
