If you are asking this question you have obviously never had food poisoning. The reasons for having food safety procedures is to make sure that food is handled carefully, cleanly, and at the right temperatures to avoid the growth of bacteria. As food decomposes or is kept at the wrong temperature the bacteria is given time to grow and thrive. If you are thinking that it's all going to look moldy you are wrong, many times the effects are unseen but when that food gets into your body and you are poisoned you will know.
