How can I pick a succesful career for myself? I am 19 years old and I am about to begin my first year of college. The only problem is I have no idea what I want to do career wise. I know I should choose something that I am passionate about and that I will be happy doing for the long haul and I feel that way about acting. I plan to pursue an acting career, but at the same time I want to major in something else, just in case I decide to not do acting anymore or if it simply doesn't work out. Hi Undefin, Well honey there's nothing to fear about. You already know that your major is Acting so why don't you pick a second major within the world of Theater. Believe Colllege is great I enjoyed it very much and so will you. Not to worry. You basically fit the profile of most college freshmen beginning college this fall. It's probably too early in your career to truly identify with a passion that will sustain throughout your life. If you're interested in acting and that doesn't work out, just think of all the other career options that may be associated with acting. There is the business(business minor) side to the entertainment industry. Public relations and writing can also be another option. Think about what takes place behind the cameras and the jobs that might be associated with television and theater production. Just think creatively and allow yourself to experience all the college courses that might open your horizons. College is also suppose to be fun. So have a blast with your new found friends.
