In my own experience, I always make a list of all my tasks, then I give top priorities to those that requires immediate action or that affects directly my decision making over others. Following the most easy ones and finally the more complex. But it is important for me to take notes of them so I can evaluate my progress and make changes if needed.

When everything is a priority it can place unusual demands on your ability to maintain equilibrium in your life. I think that if you can separate your needs from your wants only then your priorities can be addressed. Yes,a good attitude, time management and self discipline should be your mantra.

I rank priorities by:
1. Actions supportive of personal/organizational goals: top priority--keep focus and eye on the ball
2. Actions/tasks that require urgent response
3. Actions/tasks that are important, but do not require immediate attention
4. Actions that are unimportant--and may never get done.

Recommend reading a book on time management. Also suggest application of ROTI: Return on Time Invested. Actions and activities that afford you and your institution the most benefit for time invested. Allocate more time to those priorities and less to others. Be disciplined.
