Look at successes you've had in the past and how it felt then. With that feeling in mind, you can repeat that success and build on that like a ladder. You will get your confidence back automatically.

Your asking how does a person get confidence back? One thing from where you lost your confidence? Or from whom you lost that confidence? Confidence is like a thin rope that although you do what ever you can to not loose it from someone else, yet the rope might break easliy. In addition confidence is like a contract in marriage if you loose that trust it will be hard to get it back and even if you get the trust back it will never be the same. However, it will be best to ask yourself was the fault yours or that other person?
Good luck

You have to tell me how you lost that confidence.
Then I will be better in my response, but I hope that what I wrote helps there are my different ways of confidence I just explained one.

Competency boosts confidence. "While behaviors that increase competency are associated with decreased happiness in the moment, those who spend time on activities that meet the need for autonomy experience increased happiness." In other words, no pain, no gain. A sense of achievement makes you feel competent, and subsequently, confident.

Confidence that was there once is never lost, it's only blocked, out of fear usually. Something convinced you to shelve your confidence. It could be fear of letting someone down, or a general fear of failing, but at the end of the day, it's about fear. Answer: Feel the fear and do it anyway... that is confidence. That's also the title of a book. :)

Confidence is a state of mind. It's your willingness to be willing to take risks knowing that not succeeding does not mean that you have failed. Begin to take risks and built on each success and don't allow setbacks to dictate your future. None of us walked the first time we got on our feet. Accept setbacks as part of the proccess of succeeding.
