The one thing both of you have to understand is that both of you are brothers and sisters and should act as such. No matter what your differences were in the past your dad would be happy knowing you are both taking care of one another. Both of you should get together and talk about your feelings and then remember to do it for your father

Sorry for your loss. Hope you work out your differences with your sister in memory of your father.

God bless

Response to your question received in the wwuask email.

If you have any love and or respect for your father presuming he is already passed on then there is no question.

You must speak to your sister. Contact her and say that you both have some Legal issues regarding the death of your father.

The first thing you both must do is look for a will. Your father might have already taken out a policy to cover funeral costs etc.

Your sister and you are adults, and now is a very important time in your life to act like responsible grown up's and share the responsibility of sending your father off in a dignified manner.

Forget the past, because if you don't get together and do the correct thing now, you will suffer for the rest of your life and take your guilt to the grave with you.
I feel so sorry for you, if you don't sort this out now it will haunt you to the grave. The older you get, the worse it becomes.

It's probably time to begin talking to your sister and organize this important event together. There are not any set rules that I am aware of that gives this responsibility to either sibling. Your dad would probably happy knowing that his death has brought the two of you back together again.
