It all depends how anyone gives advice to others. I don't believe that age or rank in family order should deter someone who really cares from sharing observations or concerns about a sibling's child. Sometimes others might see some pattern of behavior which we as parents may not see. If someone is truly trying to be helpful especially if it's an aunt or uncle, take them aside and
listen, thank them and change the conversation if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Try not to enter into a public discourse in front of your children. It is always good listen, there may be some pearls of wisdom in what we hear.
