It really depends on the person. Everyone is different just like in everything else. It also probably depends on ones age and maturity, because not everyone dies at a ripe old age unfortunately. To my grandfather it was making sure my grandmother would be alright. He hung on sick for years till one day my grandmother told him she will be ok, a little later her asked to touch her face, and that night he died. He was 92. Most people as they age are concerned that they are leaving with a sense of a peace of mind that they have communicated to others that they are ready to leave. As people get older they also begin to focus about their purpose in life and have they fulfilled that purpose. They want to know how they will be remembered and what will be their legacy.
