13 is such a akward age for guys. all the girls expect them to be proper about dateing and everything and half the time they don't want a girlfried, just someone they can trust and feel comfortable to talk to and hang out with.someone who they know won't betray them. odds are, he is still really hurt of his ex's betrayal. just try to let him know you won't hurt him and that he can trust you. also, don't be afraid to make the first move, find something you guys both like and invite him to invite you if that makes any sense.
