Why civility and college etiquette is not considered as a requirement?
I have been a witness and personally, I have received some actions and treatment that can scare international students. I am aware of the customer service culture, but many of my fellow students are not. Some times they feel intimidated because of certain tone of voice and gestures by other students that use improper language and manners. I believe that it would be great if civility and college etiquette is taught as requirement, it will create a warm and comfortable atmosphere and open doors

While we would all want to be treated with civility it may be hard to achieve in an urban setting when survival impacts our behavior. Students in urban colleges do not have the luxury of going to a dormitory after class but return to their homes in neighborhoods were a certain behavior may be required in order to survive. Possibly during initial orientation colleges can initiate programs where civility in a college setting can be practiced. Colleges across the country reflect real life situations that may be hard to part with when you enter the doors of a college. Answered by GoodscoutAge : 31 1 month ago Edit Delete |
