Hi, I am not sure if you are still checking this question but I would like to say that it is possible. Hard but possible, public assistance is not much to live on and financially you will take a hard hit. I know that if you are a full time student with a child you can get public assistance and be exempt from the back to work program. Most schools have great online courses as well which are very helpful for busy people. Make sure you speak with a financial aid adviser there is so much assistance out there for mothers to go back to school. There is TAP, Pell, seog, direct and federal perkins loans, scholarships, etc. Now is a great time to return to or start college because Obama has increased pell grants and I am sure he will do much more to encourage Americans to go to college. I also would like to suggest maybe trying to find an at home job, I know they are difficult to come by but with some persistence and diligence you can find one. You can do a google search and find ways to make money online, but try not to get into paid to programs they are not very profitable and tend to be scams. You can try starting a blog and monetizing it or a website, or selling on amazon or ebay. So, I guess what I am saying is yes you can do it and you may not have to take such a hard hit to your income if you find a way to make money at home. Good Luck, hope this helps and that this message gets to you soon.

Seek out advisement and counseling at the college. I think that the possibility exist. I'm sure there is a way for someone with determination.

Consider day care services available at the college or else where. You are probably qualified for financial assistance from the department of Social Services.
