The amount of your you can do with children as a nurse will depend on the training program you attend. Normally you can enroll in a Practical Nursing Program for about a year and a half which will allow you to work in and out of a hospital but in a limited capacity. The RN or Registered Nurse is about a two and a half years and is a much more rigid academic program which requires passing a National Exam in order to be registered.
