I am not sure where you are located, but wherever you are, look for somewhere less expensive to live as close as you can. You can't have it both ways.

One of the great things of the U.S. is mobility. There are many olaces around the US where $500, $1000, or more goes a long way. It is a matter of moving. Not a big deal.

Don't be afraid. Feel the fear and do it anyway. By the way, you might find that you like it.

GOOGLE everything.
* Cost of living
* Crime
* Bus transportation
* Hospitals nearby
And anything else that you like and want.

Start in a 25 miles radius away from where you are, then 50, 75, 100, 150, etc... until you find something. YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING. I guarantee it.

Remember. Wherever it is... its America. You can't go wrong. :) Good luck.

Well Joan your not the only one who goes through this hardship regarding your finance. Believe me I know what your talking about. We all need to watch our capital inluding me. The best way to solve your problem is to go bank rup and start working little by little. Another thing you can do is talk with your social security and see what is going on with your account credit.

i am single and live alone. i once had your problem. then one day i sat down and seperated my needs from my wants. and broke alot of bad spending habbits. i would pick up things at the store and before i would get to the check out go back thru my buggie and ask myself with each item, do i really need this? can it wait intil next time. i dont pay the minimum on any bill. i put them in a stack and started with the lowest bill and payed the until they were all paid,maybe not that day, but i stuck to my guns and got around to it. the biggest thing is to get out of debt! dont ever trick yourself into beliving that you can afford extra's especialy if you already have debts. now? and for me? i'm buying a house,smile
