A cookbook will also tell you how to pipe with frosting, holding the tip and the bag in certain ways, making lemon peel roses, sources to order special ingredients and equipment, etc. Unique, personalized cakes will happen with knowledge and practice of the basics and adapting these basics to your ideas.
