My 3 year old grandson was the same,i still let him have his little nap in the daytime,if he wants it.I make sure he gets plenty of freshair and a chance to run around a lot, then he always has a warm bath and a hot chocolate and a bedtime story.I dont like the light in his room being on so i always have the landing light on and leave his bedroom door open.If he cries in the night i just pop in and tell him its ok and give him a big kiss and cuddle and reassure him that i am here and not going anywhere.
I think it maybe just night terrors and extra reassurance is needed.
