The islands in the Caribbean are rather diverse and reflect the country of origin. Do a little research by island and they may differ greatly. Puerto Rico in the metro area can be dangerous as well as Jamaica. St. Barts and the Netherlands affiliates are rather expensive but safer. Check them out on Frommers or other guides.
